An example of the hydropower used in Zambia.

- Tropical climate
- Mostly plateaus with very few hills
- Has ten different natural resources: copper, cobalt, zinc, lead, coal, emeralds, gold, silver, uranium, and hydropower.
- As of 2010, their population was growing at an annual percent of 1.6
Poverty: It is more common in the rural parts of Zambia. The central area of Zambia is very densely populated and up to 83% of the people located in the rural areas are living below the poverty line. A few of the major causes of poverty are how geographically isolated Zambia is, agriculture is neglected by the government, and disease in their herds of cattle. The environment is a major contributor to the level of poverty present in Zambia.
Possible Solutions:
The government could start funding agricultural projects again and they can invest in preventative measures to keep their cattle healthy. The cattle were the clue to their survival and without them, they lack the food they need. One of the big obstacles is the fact
that they lack the knowledge for funding
and other factors.
Past, Current, and Future:
Zambia used to be a somewhat wealthy country but with their disease-stricken cattle, they quickly declined and now live in a state of poverty that has been detrimental to their well being. If nothing is done about the poverty, there is a good chance of many more people dying. It is nearly impossible to keep a country going if there isn't enough food to feed the younger part of the population.
